Take Note: Tarmac Attackers Blog is Now Live
We don’t want to operate under a veil of secrecy. We love the automotive community and think it’d be awesome to have the opportunity to share all that we have going on. What better way to give you a glimpse into our operation than to showcase our happenings right here on our blog. Let’s first level set. I don’t want to get your hopes up because we’re really not all that interesting in our day to day. We’re talking taking some wheels off a Subaru STI only to replace them with some different wheels. Maybe we got some new Civic Type R parts in stock that we think are pretty cool and feel we must show you. Looking for some reviews on track pads, we got you covered. If that’s the type of excitement that you’re looking to fill your day with, you’ve certainly hit pay dirt and come to the right place. But I will say, on occasion, we do deliver.
Tarmac Attackers was founded on the idea of pairing two of our greatest loves; premier aftermarket track focused brands and some of the most competent import time attack platforms. We’ve taken a liking to the Subaru STI, Subaru WRX, Mitsubishi Evo X, Honda Civic Type R , and the 86 twins (or is it triplets now). This band of cars seem to represent some of the most capable modern day moderately priced chassis to utilize as a starting place for a competitive time attack build. Through multiple generations, these platforms have become more refined like a fine wine. What once started out as raw rally bred dirt kickin’ performance, has morphed into the tarmac attacking machines that we know as the Subaru STI and Mitsubishi Evo X. The Civic Type R togue weapon builds upon a deep heritage and has now been resurrected from the ground up which has us experiencing all the feels. To our team, the only pairing that get us more excited than day old pizza and cheap beer is performance parts and time attack platforms.
With our home base just miles from Buttonwillow Raceway, home of the infamous Superlap Battle and what is often referred to as the benchmark track on the west coast, we’re able to put in many hours of testing and gain access to our fair share of time attack coverage. We think it’s cool, you may think otherwise, but at least you know where to find it and there will be plenty to go around. We’re glad to have you along for the ride (no pun intended) and hope you enjoy our behind the scenes builds and colorful commentary on some of our favorite Subaru STI, Mitsubish EVO Xi, Honda Civic Type R, and Toyota 86 performance parts.
